SAXOPHONE LESSONS

The saxophone is one of the most versatile and expressive instruments, with a strong presence in jazz, concert bands, musical theater, pop music, and even classical repertoire. We offer saxophone instruction for students of all ages and experience levels, from beginners to advanced players seeking to refine their craft. We offer lessons on all the different types of sax: tenor, alto, soprano and baritone.

Part of our teaching philosophy centers on helping each student develop their own unique musical voice. Lessons are customized to individual goals and interests, whether students are drawn to jazz improvisation, classical saxophone, concert band repertoire, musical theater, or contemporary popular music. Throughout their studies, students develop a strong foundation in essential musicianship skills, including note reading, rhythm, ear training, and musical interpretation. Saxophone-specific instruction focuses on breath support, tone production, articulation, finger technique, intonation, and expressive phrasing. Students are guided toward developing a characteristic sound while building the technical fluency needed for confident performance.

Students interested in jazz and popular styles explore improvisation, transcription, and stylistic interpretation based on influential recordings and artists.
