Want to know what lessons are like? Try some of the demo lesson videos down below to see some of the methods and study materials that we use and check out some sample custom made diagrams and transcriptions below. Lessons are for Kids and Adults of all ages.
We use our own method and our own diagrams, music charts, videos, custom transcriptions that have been custom made and tested by our instructors over the course of many years. You can view some of these custom materials in the video demo lessons below and you can see some of our sample custom study materials on this page as well. This is a modern guitar teaching method for both kids and adults that is a comprehensive music method, not just dealing with the physicality of playing the instrument and learning songs, but of understanding music as a whole and as an art including music theory, improvisation, composition, rhythm, music notation and broad musicianship that is not limited to certain styles of music as well as technique and all the things that are specific to guitar. This can include classical guitar but also prepares the students to venture out to other styles of music if they choose to do so. Listening is also a big part of our method and weekly assignments always include listening examples and demonstration videos because progress in music proficiency starts with listening, appreciating and loving music and loving learning and then the fun and enjoyment ensues. These methods not only accommodate each student’s personal interests, but actively encourage them to pursue those interests because we recognize that the lessons and training are more effective if the student is playing songs that are interesting and relevant to them. We do both electric and acoustic guitar lessons and students who progress to a certain level can enjoy the opportunity to play in a rock band or acoustic ensemble. We also have a vast library of music that is up to date, high resolution that’s been vetted for accuracy and corrected when errors were found that students enrolled in lessons will have access to. With at least some daily practice, goals are easy to attain and weekly assignments are made very clear about what to do and how to practice and the end result will be developing musicians that are versatile, creative and expressive. As a student progresses through the levels, they will gain proficiency and music literacy through study of technique, scales, music theory, ear training, rhythm, improvisation and learning to read music charts, mainly tablature at first, but depending on the student’s goals and amount of practice that they are doing could possibly include learning how to read music notation. Our instructors are very well qualified and experienced and make use of modern methods and technology, multimedia, digital music resources, YouTube and other online resources and apps to make lessons and practice more engaging and fun and effective. Students should be at least 5 years old to start lessons although you can always do a trial lesson just to see how it goes. No previous experience is necessary to begin lessons.
